Bam Margera is a professional skateboarder, actor, stunt performer, filmmaker, and television personality from West Chester, Pennsylvania, USA. Bam’s original name is Brandon Margera, which is shortened to Bam.
Bam owes the initiation of his popularity in the early 2000s to the MTV series “Jackass,” where he, along with his friends, performed dangerous and outrageous stunts. The show was a hit, and Bam became a favorite because of his antics.
As a rising star, Margera also starred in the MTV series “Viva La Bam” and in the movies “Jackass: The Movie” and its sequels, “Jackass Number Two,” and “Jackass 3D.”
However, his television and movie career is only some of what he is known for. Margera is also a famous skateboarder, having won competitions and appearing in many skateboarding videos with his unique style and innovative tricks.
Bam Margera is also the director and producer of films, including the “CKY” series that helped him launch his career. This also worked towards strengthening his place in the entertainment industry and further expanded his following.
He also released an autobiographical documentary in 2015, touching on his friend whom he lost in a car crash.
Like all renowned people, Margera also has some public feuds. These include feuds with his former co-stars Steve-O and Johnny Knoxville. He accused the former of stealing his stunts and using them without credit. The latter was accused of excluding Margera from the upcoming “Jackass Forever” movie.
Unfortunately, Margera has also been involved in public fights with his family, especially his mother, with whom he has strained relationships. The controversy resulting from all the skirmishes led to exclusion from projects for Margera.
Bam Margera has been married twice. He first married his childhood friend, Melissa Rothstein, in 2007, in a wedding documented on his MTV show “Bam’s Unholy Union.” However, the couple’s marriage was plagued by Margera’s substance abuse and mental health issues, and they divorced in 2012. He then married Nicole Boyd, a photographer, in 2013. The couple has a son together, Phoenix Wolf.
Margera has credited Boyd with helping him turn his life around and has spoken openly about his love and admiration for her. However, the marriage to Boyd also faced some challenges. His love life has been strained due to his issues with mental health and substance abuse.
Margera has been vocal about his struggles with substance abuse and mental health issues in recent years. He has been in and out of rehab and has actively sought help multiple times. In December 2022, Margera also struggled with physical health and survived pneumonia and five seizures.

I’m an aged skateboarder and I still shred responsibly. I started skateboarding 25 years ago but also love surfing, snowboarding, or anything that involves a board.
